I have. I absolutely LOVE Myrtle Beach! I would live there if I could.

You just have to sure you really want to go in the thick of summer. It's horribly crowded and traffic is literally bumper to bumper. A ten minute car ride has sometimes taken up to an hour before.

Myrtle Beach is a great family destination and has many outlet stores if you like shopping. Broadway on the Beach and Bearfoot Landing are also shopping complexes with great little shops for looking around but as far as the Beach goes if you are just looking for a Great Beach then look toward Daytona Beach, FL where the beach large, so large you can drive along and on the beach and the sands are smooth and white. At Myrtle the sand is more rough with shell fragments and you have many more riptides to contend with. The Gulf (Panama Beach, Destin, Fort Walton, & Gulf Shores) provide some great beaches also with smooth sand and the ocean swimming is great. Cost wise Daytona Beach is best unless you go in the winter as Myrtle Beach has great winter rates and one more attraction Myrtle Beach has and is famous for and that's golf courses and some music shows.

Yes, it's nice but over crowded in the summer. The prettiest beach to me is Panama City Beach, Florida. White sandy beaches & emerald green water. No shark attacks or seaweed so far this season.

Yes. I went on a 2 week golf holiday. It was early spring so it was not warm enough for beaching but perfect weather for golfing. And Charleston was magnificent.

Yes but it was right after the busiest season and it was practically empty...which is a good thing when you have kids. Be sure and vist the Gay Dolphin. It's the best souveneir shop with a name you can't forget!
