my friend always tells me she has to do things day by day cause she isnt well and cant plan ahead for anything, All of a sudden she has been asked by someone to take someone else somewhere on a certain day in August. I feel there is a message in this, but I dont understand what it is.

My bf does the same thing, he lives one day at a time, he doesnt make any plans on a particular day until that day come, and i hate that.
And that person asking her to do what ever was not her plan, it was theirs.

There is a while between now and August. If she is not feeling well.. she may cancel. Maybe she felt obligated to this other person for some reason. Maybe she didnt want to say no.. and just bought time by saying yes with full intentions of canceling. If she truly isnt well .. I can understand why she does live from day to day. No use in planning events and always having to cancel them if she dont feel well that day. If she is your friend. just enjoy spending time with her and dont try to "read" messages into something that may not be true. Good Luck
