God I hate polka!

OMG! LMAO! I have wondered the same thing. My grandma AND my INLAWS watch it. Can you believe it. OMG. I can not STAND all the fake toothpaste smiles on the show... OR THE POLKA... YIKES!!!

I watched Lawrence Welk and I am not a grandparent. They had some very beautiful music that meant something besides killing and raping someone or doing drugs. They had some great dance numbers as well.

And, your children will hate the way you dance---if you dance. The reason seniors like the old music so much is because it was romantic and respectful and usually had wonderful music and lyrics. As far as Polka, it is a folk dance with a long tradition. You should study that tradition and maybe you wouldn't dislike it so much.

I'm in my 50's and I hate it. We had to watch it with my Grandma in the 60's. My mother is 70 and she hates it too. Maybe the 60 and 70 year old peop;e liked it back in the day it was popular, but that does not mean 60 and 70 year olds like it now!

The same reasons why their parents liked Benny Goodman and their parents liked the Charleston and their great-grandparents liked Mozart, etc etc all the way back in time. Your kids and grandkids will make fun of your music too.

they are old and were probably raised on it! my grandparents used to watch it every saturday night.
