Once and for all can someone give a complete answer to this question for me. Please I know HItler was bad, no need to comment on his policies. I just want to know if he has any Jewish ancestry. Thanks

One of the most frequently asked questions we receive is whether Adolf Hitler was Jewish or had ancestors who were. The idea seems to arise from the remote possibility that Hitler's grandfather was Jewish. Hitler's father, Alois, was registered as an illegitimate child with no father. Alois' mother worked in the home of a wealthy Jew and there is some chance a son in that household got the woman (i.e., Hitler's grandmother) pregnant. Adolf Hitler was not Jewish.

Hitler's grandmother was not Jewish.

There are some rumors hinting that Hitler's grandfather was Jewish. Few, if any, of the reputable historians on the Holocaust believe that this is so. It is more likely that Hitler tried to keep the murky history of his family quite secret because there was a high incidence of insanity and feeble-mindedness in his ancestors.

Rumors die hard, though.

One of Hitler's henchmen, Hans Frank, declared during the Nuremberg Trials in 1945-46, that Hitler's grandmother had worked in the town of Graz as a servant in the home of a Jewish family named Frankenberger. He further claimed that she was seduced by the head of the household and that Hitler's grandfather was the result of that liaison.

A subsequent analysis of Frank's statement by Simon Wiesenthal disclosed that there was no evidence of any Jewish family named Frankenberger ever living in Graz. What is more, Jews had been driven out of Graz in the 15th century and had not been allowed to return until 1856, nearly twenty years after Hitler's grandfather had been born.

Hitler's grandmother's maiden name was Schickelgruber. There is considerable evidence that this family produced abnormal progeny. Examples are: one of Hitler's relatives through his mother's side committed suicide in 1920, another, Aloisha had been placed in an insane asylum, another was "feeble-minded," and yet another was retarded.

According to the article from which I am quoting this material:

"Hitler's real fear, then, was not that someone would discover that he has a Jewish grandfather, but that it would someday come to light that he carried a hereditary disposition toward mental illness and retardation."

Was Hitler Jewish

The rumor that he was Jewish wasn't considered until Hitler began running for office in the Wiemar Republic government. However there is no actual historical evidence to prove it. His grandmother did work for a Jewish family in the town where she lived (I don't know if it was Graz or another town) as a secretary to handle the finance books as they ran a small dairy farm. According to provable facts she (Hitler's grandmother) became pregnant out of wedlock. However, provable facts show that she was subsequently fired which would not have been done if one of the sons in the family had impregnated her. However, it is known that because of regional sqabbles going on at the time (possibly a full blown war although i dont know which one) there were either Austrian, Hungarian, or German troops stationed nearby which routinely went out on dates with the local girls. As Hitler's grandmother was considered an attractive girl at the time (being in her early twenties I believe) she would have had several soldiers wanting to date her. Understand there is no historical evidence that she became pregnant by one of them though.

No, he become raised Roman Catholic and got here from Austria, the Austrians communicate German and are seen an same straightforward ethnicity as Germans, he dabbled interior the occult, made some statements that folk factor to that make him appear like he would were an atheist, he turned right into a Contradiction. Hitler believed that he become area of a carry close race of Germanic peoples who're extra acceptable than all of us else and felt that the Jews in certain are a loathsome and inferior race, also risky because they offer the effect of being extremely equivalent to different eu peoples, stay close to them and could be a an infection to the "organic aryan" or "organic Germanic" DNA. those days, they did a DNA attempt on those who're close blood relations and placed that a number of Hitler's DNA become in simple terms about absolutely close to to that of the DNA that many Jewish people have, the area isn't that he become "Jewish" yet that he become not the full blooded Germanic that he inspired because the acceptable race. yet having stated that, bypass back a procedures adequate in all of us's heritage or DNA and that i doubt that you'll discover many those who're thoroughly "organic" if there even is one of those element.

There is the slight chance that Hitler's grandfather was a wealthy Jew named Frankenberger or Frankenreither. His grandmother, Maria Anna, had been a domestic in this Jewish household at Graz and the young son may have gotten her pregnant.

This is all discussed in detail in the biography "Adolph Hitler" by John Toland. This is one of the best biographies there is on Hitler.

According to the history channel Adolph Hitler claimed Catholocism as his religion but in fact did have Jewish ancestors. I am not sure however if it was on his mothers or fathers side. I always thought it was on his mothers side. Remember the practice of the Jewish faith makes you Jewish not the color of your skin. A person can be Arabic and not a Muslam. Therefore did he have ancestors from the Hebrew blood line that practiced Judism. The answer appears to be yes.

Just a quick point of clarification to several respondents. He was actually Austrian by birth, not German.

Since 'Jewish' is not a nationality, many Germans, French, Poles and other nationalities have Jewish, Catholic, and Gypsy and other threads among their citizens.

Ultimately, wouldn't it be ironic if he did have a chromosome or two somewhere in his DNA helix?

His grandmother worked for a Jewish family. There's no proof, but it could have been possible that the head of the household impregnated his grandmother.
