I mean seriously. All of these questions can just be googled, and you have the answer instantly instead of having to wait for people to give you stupid answers. Google is the best! anyone agree?

I understand some questions are about opinions, but you can get those from Google as well

I totally agree! lol.... But, still seems kind of fun to read all of the posts. Sometimes even posting a question just to see what everyone else has to say.

I think that a lot of people use this as an alternative to chat rooms. Others use it as a way to have others do their homework for them. If you're using it for those purposes, Google won't be much good. I've asked questions for which I have found conflicting or confusing information elsewhere.

Google is good, but it can't do everything. Besides, if you tried to Google some of the things that people actually type (with bad spelling and grammar), you could never get an answer.

Many questions on Yahoo Answers would take hours to google. It's easier to ask a question and see what other people who have already googled have to say. I've asked questions that google couldn't answer and I've gotten great results. Sure some people give stupid answers, but they are easily ignored.

In a way, I agree. However, some people do not know the correct search terms to find their answers in google or any other search engine. Others just like hearing other people's opinions. Still others just like to sit on the computer to do something with their lives.

google is good, but sometimes there's too much information, and you have to read a lot. Often the answer you're looking for is 3 lines in a document of 200 lines (given that you had to find the right document first). Yahoo anwers answers can pinpoint those 3 lines.

Well, you can only google something if you have a lead to type in.for instance, if you were wanting to know some interesting websites, but didnt quite know of any particular names of them,i dont think you can google them.--However, on answers you can ask a question such as --Does anybody know of any good websites,--and you will get a load of interesting answers.I keep a book on hand ,and i have so many websites written down--its awesome.I have tons of free stuff,--all the free antivirus sites etc.Dont forget about the -search for questions bar at the top of this page-its a hive of information when you check the answers.(saves you asking, and 5 points.)--good luck.

Though many, if not most, of the questions here can be answered with an internet search, there are (a) some that cannot (e.g., identifying people in a video on yourtube.com, opinions, polls), and (b) some that require multiple search steps and clever guess work to arrive at an answer.

a lot of questions aren't suitable for google - such as questions of interpretation

also google doesn't have all facts - i frequently use google for song lyrics and sometimes google doesn't have them but alta vista does

finally yahoo answers isn't about simply repeating facts - its about communicating thoughts, ideas and opinions

A lot of the questions are about opinion. Also, you could get lucky and get an expert, but that's highly unlikely.
