There is'nt a way to be "truly happy" in a gay relationship because every part of it is wrong. There will never be peace in your heart because it is not right, sorry. No blessings.

The same thing it takes to be truly happy in a straight relationship. Love, trust, honesty, commitment... and any other traits you personally look for in a mate.
Also, lube. It's a necessity between two men, and just feels really awesome between two women. ;)

I look at guy relationships as any other relationship and if you are not happy being with the person you are with, then I say leave and move on.
