I apologize for not getting into it, but yes my neighbor chose to jump out of the tower rather than opting to burn to death i heard her hit the pavement, i saw a man running around on fire until he just collapsed and the smell as he cooked is like nothing you ever want to know, seeing everyone in the days after walking through a warzone like zombies searching for someone they would never see again, and having to help the clean up and rescue teams i saw way too much when they would find someone or something that once was someone...these last few weeks i have told the full story to so many ?'s to get a point across i just mentally have it in me to repeat every detail over again. It was a warzone and i got caught in the center, doing my job..walking 5 dogs when i walked right into the horror, I know what hell is like because i walked though it that day and it was right outside my door...the sad thing is apart from the big empty hole in the skyline you could almost forget it happened, i think a lot of people have...i am not one of them..never will be.

Why do we keep on with this 9/11 business. We are all responsible for what happened on that day. With our discrimination, judgmental attitude, classification of other. We try to impose our culture and belief unto others, instead of accepting and embracing our differences. Yes, people died. It happens every time and will happen until the end of time. 9/11 was just a date. We put so much negativity in our world. Look, on that day, babies were born, people got married, others won something, someone was kind to someone else, others made love other people died in wars which have been going on for so long that people forgot why they are fighting. Children, women, men, have been victims of violence, abuse and crime etc... Who cares about them? Their relatives. It is time to move on and celebrate life, remember to live instead of celebrating/remembering the bad events. They will always occurs. This is called: life. Let us move on and enjoy life because 9/11 is a lesson: We must enjoy every moment of life because we do not know when will the last day be. Thank you. Michael J. Anderson

My family lives on the Raritan Bay in NJ. The only thing between where they live and where the WTC used to be is 20 miles of mostly open water. The town where I grew up had the second highest number of deaths of all towns in NJ. My cousin was mayor at that time. It was a very difficult time for all of them. And yes, they did personally know people who died that day.

i dont know anyone that was affected by 9/11, but in a way we all were, and i know this does not compare to those who lost loved ones on that sad day but we are all affected and will continue to be, not just you in america and us in europe but all over the world, i would like to say that i am sorry for all the people that suffered a loss that day, and the thoughts of sensible loving people all over the world are still with you, and to the michael, racheal and whoever else may answer in a similar way to them i think that you are cold cold people, its people like you (and your president) that are to blame for 9/11, if you cant understand your own how on earth will you ever learn to understand those of other cultures.

For the love of god, let this freakin' issue go already. Yes, hundreds of people were killed. Hundreds of thousands of people are killed everyday, and yet no one gives a second thought about THOSE people. Why are these people so special? Those people that died that day aren't heroes. They just got up and went to work, like any other day. Don't give them undeserving elevated status. Do you honestly think that if any one of those people had known what was going to happen to them, that they would have gone through with it?

Working at the time for American Express Travel, I knew several of the people who worked at our WTC office; particularly 1 fantastic woman, Anne Ransom; I had been her manager several years earlier while working for another travel company; she was a DELIGHT! She reminded me of a pixie: full of fun and mischief. but always able to do her job-no matter what it took! Also, of course for about a week after that, all the airports were shut down, and we had to help many stranded people all over the world....it was a terrible, terrible time with MANY stories of horror and heartbreak....

I had a friend whose husband was on one of the two planes to hit the WTC, I found out the next day when I called her on the phone... she obviously was beside herself.... she told me that her husband had been on the flight, she had had words with him just before the flight, they both had been booked for the flight, she refused to go with him... then she found out he had been returning to Texas to her a few days later and was on the plane that went into the first tower.

Three days later i got an email from her, it is personal, but when i responded to it i didnt get an answer back..... a couple of weeks later someone using her email address answering my multiple posts to her told me that my friend had killed herself only moments after i spoke to her. I was the last person to hear her voice...

I was completely crushed... my friend, my sweet, kind, loving friend was dead, she left me something but her family never gave it to me... I dont know what it was, but it isnt important, my friend couldnt live with what happened to her...
