These two are rival states. Which state do you like the best, or do you love both of them? Why?
Do you or have you lived in one of these states? If so, which town, if you don't mind?
I prefer TN over KY, personally (no offense to KY folks.) I live in central KY, near Lawrenceburg. I like the old South flavor of TN, it is much more part of Southern culture than KY. Plus, TN is rich in music history, which I like, and I think the people are much friendlier than in KY. However, KY and TN are about equal in terms of natural beauty. Both are gorgeous states.

TN wins! TN is like 3 states (hence the stars on our flag) East(yea!), Middle, and West. Each division is different from the others. West (think Memphis) is flat, generally hotter then East, very agricultural also. Middle (Nashville) is hilly and flat, agricultural industrial and government. East is mountainous, somewhat agricultural, Applachian mountains influenced and tourism heavy (Smokys, Dollywood, and such).
TN needs to upgrade the education of its children. They are ranked very low and I consider this the most pressing challenge: finding enough money to fund better education.
There is no place on Earth I would rather be in October then East TN.
We like to say "Ain't it good to be alive and be in Tennessee!"
When I drive thru KY. I notice that they play all 3 kinds of music on the radio: Country, Gospel, and Country Gospel! You get a little more variety as you pass Lexington. By the way, in KY's defense. Lexington seems to be a pretty cool town.

I live in KY and have visited TN numerous times. I like KY much better. I find the retailers in TN to be more stuck up, not a good way to run a business. Plus sales tax is 3.5 percent higher there than here. Scenery is equally nice in both states. I like KY Wilcats wayyyy better than the Vols! LOL

I live in Louisville, and prefer Kentucky, although I like Nashville quite a bit. I think Kentucky actually has a rich musical history (check out
the link to find out more about it). I think people are nice in both states. The native food (BBQ, southern cooking) is better in TN, but there are wonderful restaurants of all kinds in Louisville. They are both beautiful states!

I lived in east Tennessee for 7 years. I didn't like it there one bit. I found Kentucky to be much more interesting and friendlier. I had a lot of fun in Lexington, saw Abe Lincoln's Cabin, and visited Mammoth Cave.

I lived in Memphis for a year. Nice people, interesting city, but didn't care for the high humidity. Native Northern Californian. We have the best weather. I wouldn't mind visiting my ancestral homeland of Kentucky. Great-grandfather was born there in the late 19th century.

I've never lived in or visited either, but when it comes to college sports I root for the Kentucky Wildcats over the Tennessee Volunteers every time.

Tennessee is so much better, the mountains, and crystal clear waters are magnificent, especially the Chattanooga area. and it has many larger cities, a little something for everyone. Another good place to visit (off subject), is Hot Springs Arkansas.
