When I say studied, I mean documentation and books written by scientists who have actually studied evolution in a lab or in the field. Not school text books, they still cover embriology, which was a falsified study by Ernest Haeckel in 1969. In 1975 when he was brought up on criminal charges he admited he falsified his documents. Yet over 130 years later our children are still tought the garbage along with the rest of the evolutionary religion (which teaches that we are our own gods). The only truth in evolutionary theory is micro-evolution or (variations of kinds).

Micro-evolution is a fact - small variations within a species, e.g. seasonal changes in the size and shape of the beaks of finches.

Macro-evolution - one species gradually changing into another more complex species - is MOST CERTAINLY NOT A FACT. And many reputable scientists have distanced themselves from macro-evolution. As one example: "Evolution is a fairy tale for grown-ups" - Dr. Louis Bounoure, Director of Zoological Museum and Director of Research at the National Centre of Scientific Research in France.

The Second Law of Thermodynamics also poses a major problem for evolutionists. Proposing the "open" system "still leaves open the problem of how or why the ordering process has arisen". - Charles. J. Smith.

wdmc above mentioned virus evolving. What did it evolve into? Did it evolve to become a bacteria? No, it is still a virus!! By-the-way, a virus in NOT a living organism.

Yes, those that actually study the data believe evolution occurred. Embryology does support evolution even though Haeckel falsified some things. It has progressed a bit since that time. I have a feeling you really don't have any idea what the theory of evolution actually says nor what the evidence either for or against it would be. There were significant changes and extensions made in the 1950s by Mayr and other scientists bringing it in line with genetics. Also, there have been challenges in the mechanism by Gould and others but they were convinced evolution happened. They were debating whether natural selection was the only mechanism of evolutionary change and what pace evolution occrs at (50,000 years for speciation vs millions of years).

Evolution is based on mutation, things have to mutate to better adapt to their enviroment. Darwin states that we all come from a single celled organism. Moving from a single cell to a human with trillions of cells takes a lot of mutation, and they have to be in the right order, no use having an arm or eye with no nervous system to control it. Lets crunch some numbers:
If we limit the number of neccessary mutations to 1000 and argue that half of those are beneficial, the odds of getting 1000 beneficial mutations is 2 to 1000 or 10 to 301
The universe contains 10 to 80 particles the fastest time they could mutate is 10-42 sec known as plank time(the time it takes for two photons traveling at 186000 miles per sec to pass each other) So if every particle in the universe was mutating at the fastest possible rate since the big bang (10 to 17 seconds ago or 15 billion years) you would have 10to80 x 10to42 x 10to17 or 10to139 mutations, but it takes 10to301 to get only a tousand beneficial mutations. Thus you have a 1 in 10to162 chance of getting 1000 beneficial mutations. In order for Darwins theory to be correct the Earth would have to be a trillion quadrillion quadrillion quadrillion quadrillion quadrillion quadrillion quadrillion quadrillion quadrillion quadrillion quadrillion times older than it is now. The chance of our universe being created at random is 1 in 10to10to123, this number is derived from a formula created by Joesph Beckinstien and Steven Hawking, and is discussed in the book "The Large, the Small and the Human Mind" by Roger Penrose. Numbers and math doesn't lie and in this case presents a strong case for God and intellegent design.

By the way, those of you who think Evolution is a fact are wrong. It's called the THEORY OF EVOLUTION. Important word "Theory" meaning not PROVEN, therefore NOT FACT.
And JANE please quote your "FACT finding" super scientists that difinitivly explain, the human soul and morality. I would be interested to read some FACTS on the subject

After going through freshman biology at Vanderbilt University, I have to say yes - yes I do. Several of my professors actually came out and said that people who didn't believe in evolution had no business even taking a biology class, which I thought was pretty harsh, but still accurate.

You are right, of course, about embryology. A few very basic trends are visible, which is why it is still taught, but the similarities are basically negligible from embryo to embryo.

This isn't an argument, of course; it's not a debate I really feel like having. Just explaining my views.

Master G, you have been tried in the court of Yahoo!® Answers and have been found guilty of falsifying documents. You claim to be able to see the future (130 years after 1975). You must be burned as a heretic!

Evolution is a worldwide accepted theory by scientists. There has NEVER been a article published in a peer-review journal that could discredit evolution. There have been modification and revision, nut the theory as a whole stands as strong as gravity as a theory.

Just because one small thing in the theory is wrong, does that mean throw it out the window? That's like watching one batter strike out and claiming it's impossible to hit the ball in baseball.

The part of your comment that is most offensive is the part regarding evolution as "religion." We study science. That means we make hypotheses and observation. Religion is based on faith, somrthing that has ZERO part in science.

Ernst Haeckel could not have falsified a study in 1969, as he died in 1919 (reference 1). His theories with respect to ontogeny and phylogeny have been discredited repeatedly, as anyone who has picked up a text on the subject in the past 8-9 decades could tell you.

Back to the drawing board. Find some other spurious theory we can pick apart, please.

I can't even believe that people-meaning the creationists, are this ignorant to science in our modern age. It is scary how the ignorant mad masses of relgious nuts just sweepingly deny science--something which has been proven to be true time and time again, because it is based in FACT and EVIDENCE. Just because it discredits the BIBLE???of all things? the bible is JUST a BOOK---If you want some real wonderment look through a microscope or into a telescope, the answers they have given us are very rewarding, it will give you the answers if you know what it is you are looking at.----Don't try to deny science because you rely on your life manual., don't you think those guys who were denying the earth was round felt dumb?

The only evolution here is the micro-evolution that you speak of. Variations of kinds. You know Bulldogs mating with Shitzus and the off spring is BULLSHITZ! Sort of like mixing races. It's all an experiment.

We are all aliens so deal with it. We came to this Earth thousands of years ago, and are fighting to see who can screw up this planet the fastest. Our home lands (and there are different planets which we come from), are all laughing at us right now. Proof is at Area 51.

Evolution is scientific fact.

"Evolution is the change in the heritable traits of a population over successive generations"

It is observable in the present day. The reason you have to get a new flu shot every year is because the virus changes every year, it evolves. Tuberculosis is becoming an increasing threat because it is evolving to become resistant to treatment.

Did humans come from monkeys? Who knows. But there is no disputing evolution.
