I'd much rather see this than what I answered earlier today about a girl feeling so depressed she was going to go bulimic because her boyfriend told her another girl was prettier than her.
Unfortunately there are still far too many women in the later category...letting men define them, sucking up to men everywhere. That is of course exactly why the worst kinds of men are still in power everywhere in the world.
I don't think though that the answer is to become LIKE men. As a long term feminist, I feel women are as full a human being as men but unfortunately our self esteem has been trampled on by men AND other women for centuries now. It is easy for me to say lets just all get along but basically that is a BIG step. Its all about respecting each other and ourselves...its the only way to happiness for us all. And when you respect yourself and others you do not lie steal cheat others. You honor your commitments and have integrity...it is the only way to happiness.

Okay, I am a female also and I have a wonderful husband so you may want to make sure before you start speaking for "women" that you have everyone backing you up because there is no way I am going to be acting the way you are or the way you say we are going to be.Plus, I respect myself too much to act the way you are right now and to do the things you say you are going to do. I will not stoop to their level and apparently your level too.

there have always been aggressive and vulgar women, just as there have always been aggresive and vulgar men
certain aspect of contemporary culture make it easier for women to be more publically inappropriate (as it has been for men)
I think this questoin is more speaking out against some inappropriate behaviour that has been more frequent in males, than it is actually condoning the behavior

Michelle, it's nice to share your OPINION, but I think it's you who have to deal with your problem with men and the fact that you had to find out the hard way that NO MAN has to pick you up, nor is it his job to do so.
You need to occupy yourself with something constructive and stop being so irresponsible and lazy for yourself, but if you need to rip men apart with your b*llsh*t, do it, but hoping you'll move on and learn that you need to pay attention to you and leave everyone else alone-male and/or female.
