Well, from Langhorne you must take the commuter train of R3 to Clifton-Aldan, Primos, Secane or Morton station, all of those are near or at Springfield.
The cost of the ticket is US$ 7.

There a 3 towns in Southeast PA named Springfield.
Which one ar you lookng for?
Delaware County's or Bucks County's
.
The one in Bucks County is closer to Langhorne.

If you want the most direct route, call SEPTA at 215-580-7800 or goto www.septa.org. If you just take the Regional Rails, you might end up nowhere near where you want to go.
My guess is take the Langhorne Train to Center City, and then take the El to 69th Street (weekends - El Shuttle 40th to 69th Street) and then take the 101 to Springfield.
But my best advice is call SEPTA or use their website.

About $7 on SEPTA. That's the max one-way fare, and you'd have to come all the way through Center City and change trains.
There is no "directly". Changing trains is safe.
