The Bible, as many here have said, is not a novel. If you are trying to classify Bible as a literary form, it qualifies as an anthology of many books. Some are narrations, some are poetry, some are personal letters, and some are just lists of pedigrees. The Book of Revelation could be considered a "Roman á Clef", a novel with a key, since it was written in code.
A great novel, also universal in its scope and appeal, is The Brothers Karamazov.

This is a series, not a single novel, but in my opinion, it's The Gap Series, by Stephen R. Donaldson. The His Dark Materials trilogy, by Philip Pullman, is a close second.

Incidentally, a "novel" is by definition fictional. Although many may argue that the Bible's contents are factually untrue, that doesn't change their presentation - it's most often presented as a nonfiction account. At any rate, I certainly wouldn't consider it a novel.

The Bible itself is in no way a novel. Some of the books (Exodus, perhaps) could be considered novel-like.

I have not read every novel ever written, but one of my favorites is One Hundred Years of Solitude. And I did love the Philip Pullman books.
