As much as feminism has grown in the last century, there will always be chauvinistic men out there who will never see women as their equals. However, there are some men, and this number grows by day, who look upon women as equals and respect them. I say the world should have more of these types of men but there are a lot of Eastern cultures that simply do not allow this transition. Look at the Muslim culture, for example. Women are to be fully clothed from head to toe and cannot be seen by anyone other than their husbands or they are disowned. It is a ridiculous custom that I think hinders feminism in many parts of Asia and even Africa. Those men will never look upon women as equals and will not allow their sons to look upon women as equals either. In this way, culture and tradition is preserved and madernity and growth is dissolved in it's early stages. I guess the obvious answer is it really depends on one's culture as to how women should be treated. I personally believe that all human beings are created equal and should not be differentiated on the basis of sex, creed, religion, race, sexual preference, or any other discernable quality.

American men do NOT look at women as equals. They have yet to allow women to be better represented in politics. They have yet to allow women to break the glass ceiling. In general, they only look at women as equal when it comes up to paying the bills because day to day living is becoming harder and harder and a majority of the women are working, either full time or part time.
American men have a tendecy to look at women as sex-objects, something that has to please them. Who invented the stiletto shoe? A man---is it good for our feet? No, but it makes the legs look slimmer, makes a woman look more sexy. It is not a woman who invented that shoe!!!
Look at all the advertisements: women have to look young, slim, sexy---who makes most of the ads? Men. Then look at the movies and you really know. Aside from a few women who were chosen by presidents more out of political reasons then for their brains, do we have women in real power? A femele vice president?(I am not even asking for a female prez, huh?)
What a lot of people might not know is this:
In Iran, a country that supposedly suppresses women, the highest judge is a WOMAN. The former Prime Minister of Turkey: A WOMAN. The same thing in Egypt. I would say that a country, that allows a woman with brains to achieve anything is looking at women more in terms of equal than a country that is dominated by men

What do you mean by this? If you mean are women equally as important as men, then yes, women are equals.
If you mean that women are equally as powerful as men, this is obviously not the case. I would never shove some woman out of line because I considered her a subhuman slave (like muslim men do, I might add). But, neither would I ask a woman to help me change the tire on my car or back me up if some criminals entered our home.

No. It's nearly impossible to be seperate but equal. Whenever I help someone move, it's always men. Women seem to get a pass. However, I probably don't need to tell you that it cuts both ways.
Women are treated worse some times, better other times. But, no, men and women aren't equal.

I will venture to say a minority do and majority wise they don't...especially in the corporate world. Hey I could be wrong I have been out of the loop for a while, but women have been working on equal rights and pay for a long time and we're still working on it.

I believe in treating women fairly and being sensitive to their concerns. Treating all women as equal will depend on so many factors. The person in question as well as so many other factors too numerous to mention. Both Men and Women can be bizarre at times due to situations etc.............

Well it depends. If it's a woman that wants all the privledges and rewards of being equal but not put out the same effort or amount of work then no. But if she's willing to lay it all on the line and do the same work us guy's do then yeah she should get treated the same!

I believe in this: Both persons have equal rights, but different characteristics. It means, the women are more caring about the kids and its important to pay attention to their pregnacy period. Meanwhile, the man is more focused in the hard work out of home. But it's duty of both to take care of their family and propieties.

Frankly if he's smart he will! The west was won by a man and a woman who worked together. Each is half of a whole!
A man has his strength that is unmatched, but a woman has a strength that NO man can match. It's a fool who thinks he is stronger than a woman. It is a fool who thinks she is stronger than a man!
Each has a strength that the other needs and if they are unwilling to acknowledge that they will allways be miserable.
