you need to know how many ohs the amps output is and how many ohms the speakers are rated at.it should be on the back of the amp and on the back of the speakers.if the amp is rated at 4ohms and the speakers were 8 ohs then that would only be 500watts to the speakers.also look to msee if the amp power is rated at watts rms.if it rates as peak power that is not as powerful as rms watts.

1000 watt amp + 400 watt speaker. Don't try it unless you really hate that speaker. It will do very bad things to that speaker.

The simple answer is that if you have the volume control set very high then there is a chance of burning out the loudspeaker.

There are several things to take into consideration but unless you have a reasonable technical knowledge there is little point in mentioning them.

lets see 1000 - 400 = 600 .....just make sure and get a big fuse, like a 400 amp fuse that ought to work

as long as you don't turn the amp up so high your speaker will be just fine.

If you crank it up beyond 40% power, it will break.
