I am from Wales, loads of people that I know didn't support England, can you tell me why? I seem to hear that 1966 world cup more from the Welsh and Scots than the English.. why is this great divide so rife.. between us all we should be united.. UNITED KINGDOM. I noticed this as well in Scotland. They accept the Welsh and Irish but not the English. Same in Wales they accept the Scots and Irish but not the English. C'mon shed some serious light on this folks for me.. Thanks

i asked a similar question to this and i deleted it in the end cos of the abuse i got from the Welsh, Scottish and Irish. it is ridiculous, at the end of the day, Scotland and Wales especially cos we share the same land, if we can forget what the Germans did in the 1940's, then whatever beef people have with the English, get over it please.

It'show the media over-hypes things about England e.g. England WILL win the World Cup nothing wrong with confidence but it's the fact they make it out they are the winners before the tournament has started.

The media basically ignores the other countries - Wales, Scotland and Ireland specially in 6 Nations Rugby. An example is when England played there was a big article about it the next day, but when say for example it's Wales vs. Scotland - only a small article about that. I find the arrogant

Also when England are knocked out of tournaments they always have a scapegoat:
WC 98 it was David Beckham's fault
WC 2002 it was David James' fault
WC 2006 it's Ronaldo's fault

I also find it sickening that because England are knocked out of the WC they are attacking innocent Portuguese families for being Portuguese because it was Portugal that knocked them out of the WC.

2 years ago I was on holiday in Spain wore my Welsh rugby top and I had strange looks all day from English people, as if to say to say "This is an English only destination.

The UK flag - where is the Welsh in that?

Because the welsh are from Wales, The Irish are from Ireland and the Scots are from Scotland. None of them are English.Maybe thats why? But seriously this goes back a long long way into history. The wars with the scots, the irish and welsh..Its only the English who still want the UNITED KINGDOM. Were Scotland, Wales and Ireland not different countries at one point in history?

hey hey I love English premiership, Championship, Div 1 Div 2 Div 3 conference, I also love all the european leagues, and us soccer, china soccer, any soccer basically, and surprising enough probably it's irish soccer which is pretty non-exciting and non competitive and I am Irish, although I find your question very bios, and generalised, your idea is hang them first then ask questions. and that is not a good plan a or plan b, I supported bobby moore and the lads in 66 as we had no idea at that time, and it's not much bettier now in ireland of course.
but hey don't kill everyone who is welsh, scottish, or irish, give em a fair hearing.
and seeing as though the uk national team are in the poorhouse right now isn't time a new manager was chosen, I mean a manager not noddy and his coach big ears.
and while you are looking for something to do, get talent spotting around the grounds, need to replace 9 or more of the current english 11. you see I'm not bios, and racial, I enjoy the football for what it is, and if you don't know what that is, then this quesiton is irrrelevant.

The English team is not the British team. There are no Scots or Welsh on that team we have our own team and the Welsh their own. I never supported England but I would support the British olympic team. Simple the English team is not Scottish. Scots and Welsh are Brits but we are not English as a British team will be supported 100%

When have the English ever supported the Scots or the welsh.?
Lets face it as English we want the whole of the UK to be English and anyone who has their own language is frowned upon.
Even the British flag has no welsh influence.
We are our own people.

There seems to be something which unites the world - support of any team playing England.
I am Scots and support Argentina, Germany, Portugal but not England....I thought I would support good teams !!!
It is nothing personal and just a bit of fun.
Who knows, if the pressure placed upon us to support England was lifted...we might possibly ... but, then again. No, I just don't want to support England - what's the problem?

Doesn't feel so good when you see countries around you supporting each other but leaving you out, does it?

How ironic is this? Angel is asking the Scots, Irish and Welsh get over their history with England. I mean, she is seriously asking 3 nations to wipe out their historical differences with England, BUT, and here's the kicker, England cannot get over their loss to Portugal in a game. Wow...you keep amazing me, Angel. Keep it up. I'm loving it.

I would imagine it would be because Wales, Scotland and Ireland have their own teams? they are not considered part of England . its because all the welsh , scots, irish wanted there own land at some stage in history, hence the divide.

The Scots, Welsh and Irish are Celts...the English aren't Celts.

Its what comes of being the United Kingdom by force and not choice. Asking a Scotsman to rally for the English is even more adversive than asking a Frenchman. History is what it is - like it or not and bitter roots run deep.
