if they are a true friend to you then their intentions would be totaly pure and they'd want the best for you. but if otherwise you should totaly loose friends like that. there is no justification to that...unless they are friends with you 'cause they want what you have! and if their intentions are bad you can see right away 'cause they will try to suck up to you and play it off like nothing is wrong!

people lie for lots of reasons and some times with good intentions..if you friend means alot to u then ask why they felt the need to lie to u!

a friend may lie to protect feelings or a friend may lie to hide something he or she may have done wrong. I personally dont like being spared the truth. check with in yourself maybe your friend beileves you cant handle the truth.If it isnt that set the friend up and see if they will lie about something simple.

It's hard to say since you aren't being specific, but in general people lie to protect themselves or to try to keep someone from getting upset with them.

perhaps he found out something bad and lied to you to avoid hurting you... but if this person really was your friend, he'd lied "today" and then have a serious talk to tell you the truth

sometime we like make fun of other people, some people don't like wen other people make fun to then. some time you friend tell you something very important you make a joke at it.so he or she don't have a choice.
