We have little bitty moths in our house. Thought they were from grains, etc. in the pantry. I have seen them in the grains aisle in grocery stores so figured I would get rid of all old foot items like that and still have them. Could they be coming in from outside as well? Any suggestions on what to do about them? Kind of hard to swat as many as we are seeing every day.

Hey, those moths live in flour, cereal, rice, pet food, etc (I've gotten them from gerbil food before). They spread quickly, so you'll need to check everything that fits this description, and if it's infested throw it out. If it's not infested put it in an air-tight container or plastic ziploc bag. Also, keep killing them when you see them - you'll see little spider web-like strings and that's a sign that they're around. That's also one way you can tell food is infested - it will sort of stick together like it has spider webs in it. I've managed to get rid of them before, but they are a real pain.

Bad news - these things don't go away. You will most likely find them in flour, cereals, crackers, nuts, seeds, pasta, rice and dried fruit - so most of your pantry. The bottom corners of sealed packages might have little web-like threads on them. Toss it all out. Then anything you buy to replace the damaged food you have to keep in Tupperware.
It gets worse. They also eat wool! Check your sweaters and suits. Anything damaged gets tossed - all other off season item have to be put in space bags.
The only way to get rid of the nasty buggers is to make them look elsewhere for food. You can't just throw out what they've gotten into you have to wash the cabinets too. And remember you don't know where the eggs are!
BY THE WAY - change grocery stores!!! If you saw them in the store you bought contaminated items and there is no way they are going to empty their shelves so you just keep bringing the little critters home!!
good luck!

Get a good vacuum cleaner and suck the moths from the air like the floor. Most likely they will go to a single light source in the room. I hope you look for small holes in your screen or other opening where they could enter and plug it up. It's cleaner than spraying..

Yes, moths are a prob. Get some things called, Moth Balls or some other anit moth things, put them in the closets and other places you can put them. Keep all breakfast foods, which don't require refrigeration, in plastic containers. If you rebuilt any of the walls of your house, use cedar wood. Moths hate cedar!

Yeah....check your flour, cereal, and other dry grainy foods you may have including pet food. They are probably in something like that especially if it stay sitting for long periods of time. Get rid of whatever it is that they are in.

I remember bringing a bag of catfood home from the store, opened it and I was graced with tiny white moths, I didn't appreciate it, but the cat thought that it was playtime. :)

Put non-chemical remedies on the shelves (bay leaves & peppermint oil).. Clean all food out, then wipe with bleach solution. Do NOT keep anything in it's original container....use Ziploc bags or airtight rubbermaid containers. Be vigilant!

They might actually be winged termites! I would have it checked out if I were you! We have that problem. Do They look like skinny, grey moths? Time to call an exterminator!
