Please note these definitions from Webster's New World Dictionary:
bliss n. 1. great happiness 2. spiritual joy
ignorant adj. 1. lacking knowledge or experience 3. unaware (of)
My question is how can you achieve great happiness if you are unaware of what is going on around you? Spiritual joy comes from knowing what Jesus has done for you. Great happiness is a result of discovering what there is to be happy about. And wouldn't you rather find out now than be told later of something you did but didn't know you did because you were ignorant? I would.
Ignorance is bliss so long as no one else knows about it.

Ignorance sure;y is bliss! There are a lot of people about who really don't want to know what's going on around them If they knew they would have to do something about it but that can be too much trouble. That is one of the reasons many people don't realize what is going on in this world
I would guess that there are many citizens who don't know how many servicemen (and women) have lost their lives since this adventure into Iraq started and they certainly are acting like ostriches with their head in the sand with regard to the number of Iraqi civilians have lost their lives.
And they are hiding from the size of the budget deficit--they forget to ask "who is going to pay this"

According to the Bible, Hosea 4 vs 6 says "My people are destroyed for a lack of knowledge" so I would have to say Ignorance is NOT bliss.

YES---- it is and i wish some one could take back a few things i ----------know and make me into the ignorant child i once was.
TO---- beleive my leaders without question would be nice and ----------defend them as honest people with my personel best intrest at heart .
BE---- able to hear my government message as true and -----------righchouse and in defense of freedoom is why we are at war.
IGNORANT---- would allow me these illusions that all men are -----------------created equal maybe in the true sense of sperm and -egg but if mom is rich as all get out am i born equal or do i have a head start.shoul i shoot kill and attain land as wealthy families did when coming here or struggle against a system that is set up for the rich to succeed and the poor to fail .for every wealthy man who made it from nothing there is a body or two in the closet.trust me
IS---- this fair for someone to be born better of or should we have -------a100% inheratance tax if you can not give it away to your family and you worrie so much about the money then what type of sick flawed person are you and what kind of children will you raise.
BLISS---- is what we all would like in life but hardly obtainable ------------today with the deck stacked so heavily in-favor of the rich.

For some people it appears, but to people like me, who want to face the truth and fight it, instead of running from it, that bliss is just cowardice and escape, I say face the truth, and make it so you don't have to receive happiness from a lie

It depends on you.
You aren;t adding anything useful/helpful/beautiful into the world by worrying. (I know I have tried it a lot and it didn't help me or anyone I know)
Whereas you DO add something useful/helpful/beautiful by your own happiness and joy. (which I have also tried and it has bright happiness and joy to others)
Focusing on the negative only brings about the negative because we are spiritual energy production units. What we put our attention on is what takes place.
Anyway my opinion.

I'm very jealous of the ignorant in a way. It must be very nice not to know about the world's problems, and can just blow them off with a flippant "let's nuke them and make a glass parking lot".

Only if you are blissful in a situation that can be made better and you yourself would make this situation better if you actually knew better.
