What is Vitex?
Alternate Names: Vitex agnus-castus, Agnus castus, chaste tree, monk's pepper
Vitex is found in Asia and in Mediterranean countries. The part used medicinally is the dried fruit.
Why People Use Vitex
Vitex was used traditionally for a range of female conditions, such as post-partum hemorrhage and to help with the "passing of afterbirth". One of its alternate names, "chaste tree", comes from the historical belief that it can suppress libido.
Vitex does not contain natural hormones. It appears to increase progesterone by stimulating luteinizing hormone release from the pituitary gland. Vitex also normalizes excessive prolactin, promoting fertility.
Female infertility
PMS, especially breast tenderness, cramping, and headaches
Acne, especially if it is related to the menstrual cycle
Fibrocystic breast disease
Heavy menstruation
Common Doses
The German Commission E monograph recommends a daily dose of 40 mg. Vitex is usually taken for months for a hormone-balancing effect.
Safety
Side effects are rare. Occasionally, women experience mild digestive upset or minor skin rash. Vitex is not recommended during pregnancy.

I have taken it. It will not fix a clogged tube. Only a surgery will do that. (I think)
Vitex is an herbal remedy that will put your hormones in check and will get your cycles regular. It also helps with PMS mood swings.
It does work quickly also.
