What do you think went wrong for Brasil this year?
Brasil had an absolutely brilliant team this year. Many were saying it was even better than the legendary 1970 team. But their performance was so poor. With so many footballing superstars on their team what do you think went wrong for them. Do you think it was the managing of the team (Carlos Alberto Perierra & co), or the fact that they peaked too early during their qualification or anything else. Thanks in advance

The whole Brazil episode boils down to one conclusion :--The casual "we-can-score-goal- anytime-in-the-90-minutes" attitude..was visible since the first match...and this is really what has cost them the much coveted prize for any team which had so many star players..
Hope they shun off this approach soon and do what they had been doing for years..and that is to play hard and well.

It think mainly due to a lack of team spirit.
All players are very good individually but it does not make a good team. Parreira has a responsability because they never had a tactic training session. Parreira puts Juninho against France, to avoid midfield to be dominated, but never trains his team with this configuration.

I don't think it is due to the physical shape. Brazilian, English, Italian, French or Spanish players are in the same european teams. For example, Emerson (Brazil), Cannavaro, Del Piero, Zambrotta (Italia), Thuram, Viera, Trezeguet (France) play with Juventus.

Finally, I don't like to blame specific players but Cafu and Roberto Carlos were maybe a little bit old for the brazilian-style play. Cicinho could have been a great substitute for Cafu, who has suffered against Malouda.

There were several reasons:
1) Since most of the players are stars on their club teams, they were exhausted when World Cup time arrived.
2) Both forwards, Ronaldo and Adriano, were completely out of shape.
3) Ronalndinho didn't get the freedom he gets when he plays for Barcelona.
4) Robinho played too little. Brazil could have used his athleticism and excitement.

Brasil's team is being investigated for throwing the match vs. France..AGAIN...both Zagallo and Parreira could easily get fired...

Cafu and Ze Roberto have the inside track on what happened and will retire for personal reasons EVEN though...there are other reasons they will not provide to the press...

Ronaldo became off sort, and the crew purely wasn't a crew. They were poorly prepared, having in ordinary words performed on warmth-up adventure previous to flying into Germany. They took on New Zealand, and they felt they were waiting to be champs back. This became purely tragedy contained in the making. all of us waited to be sure this unstoppable stress enter the adventure and wipe out the contest. We in ordinary words talked about glimpses of brilliance, regardless of the indisputable fact that the crew purely wasn't there.

They were too vain and had too much of a big head for this world cup! Brazil thought they would win the cup without a doubt. They were too over-confident!

Shows em right!

I don't think they played poor except there opponent played good. Italy has been training hard to get were they are this time around. but maybe it's there old coach Luis scholarly.(big Phil) that's what there missing because look how close Portugal came this time around. it depends on how you look at it
