I for one had no illusions about involvement in Iraq, and it's potential problems. I am surprised that public support has lasted this long to any degree.
Whether or not we should have gotten involved there is a different issue on how it is going. I am not pleased with the conduct of the campaign, but this is a war. all wars are unpredictable, wasteful, with much suffering. It cannot be looked at from the perspective of civilian / business style perfection and timetables, which is what is happening.
I am a vet, and attempted to enlist for this one, but did not make the cut for medical reasons.

In some fashion, Iran & N. Korea are much more straight forward. They are sovereign nations, (as opposed to the current insurgency in Iraq), and we are best equipped to deal with that threat.

That is exactly the point. Know what a Pyrrhic victory is?

It's when one side expends so much of their resources to win a battle that they leave themselves weaker, and vulnerable to attack from a strong adversary.

China and Russia are watching us deplete ourselves in Iraq, thinking about how little we've gained and how much we've spent....
