The opposite of ungrateful is grateful.
The way to achieve it is to remember to say "Thank You!" whenever any other person does a service for you. No matter how small or insignificant the service is saying Thank You in a meaningful way is true gratefulness.
Always smile and look a person in the eye when saying thank you. (though this will depend on both your culture and the other parties culture.)
If you want to create an attitude of gratefulness then you may want to focus on creating a practice of saying thank you through out the day. Try looking for reasons to say Thank You. See how many situations you can find a reason to say Thank You in.

The opposite of ungrateful is grateful or thankful. The way to be that way is to have a positive attitude rather than a negative one and look for the good in all things, especially people, rather than the bad.

I have a friend who was electrocuted some years back. Doctors told him he was going to die. For some reason, he hung on only to feel pain and suffering, a fuzed neck, blackouts causing another injury (a ligament tear in his knee), and about 7 operations including cortisone injections in his back. Still, he lives in pain. Each time I'm feeling a little down or like I have been shortchanged, I think of my friend. And when I do, I feel so grateful for my health and living my life comfortably and without pain, able to walk normally and move my neck left to right, things most of us take for granted. Just think of someone less fortunate than you.
