I see oh so often healthy Americans that are unemployed due to sheer lack of ambition. They bum off of family and any government aid they can get (which the squander on booze and smokes). They are a waste of space.
I think there should be some sort of law enacted to force these people off of the couches and out into society. Maybe then there wouldn't be all the jobs for all the immigrants that come into our country illegally

Good question! I could not agree more. I've been in that situation with a lazy bum of an X who wanted me to work and provide for him. All he did was lay on the couch..swilling JD, smoking, and changing channels on the TV. His Neanderthal beliefs made me leave him. There was no reason for his laziness, other than the government paid him to stay home. He collected unemployment for well over a year. I think the system is broke that allows this type of behavior to go on unchecked. In the meantime, I moved on and am now happily married to an AF pilot, with two wonderful kids. The X is probably still collecting unemployment laying on the couch...........

As long as the Government takes care of the lazy bums they will never get off their butts. I also see plenty of Americans able to work but who rather sit at home and collect food stamps, welfare, and live in their subsidised rent apartment complaing about the government cutting thier benefits. I know some families in public housing that 3 or 4 generations have lived this lifestyle. Doesn't it say in the Bible somewhere that "If you don't work and contribute you don't eat"?

Sad thing is, when the government enacts programs like Welfare to Work, ridiculous people like Michael Moore bash them and use their influence to damage public support.
Truth is, if you force the laziest people to go to work, what kind of job do you think they would do? Would you want them working for you? It is a situation that cannot be remedied until the people make a stand and make major changes in the way the United States' freedoms are observed.

$100,000 in bonuses... that is corporate welfare, and you are right it should STOP.
This exposes the negative impact of the privatization of government services. Our objective should be the collective ownership and control of resources to satisfy the needs of people, not profit. As Marx said, "History does nothing...History is rather nothing but the activity of humanity in pursuit of its ends," and "human power is its own end."

Personally, I don't want them around where they can freeload at work and cause me problems. If they sponge off the state, at least I can work effectively and in peace.

Great question. I am confused as to why we are having a border discussion when we have so many healthy Americans on the dole. I say make them work the fields & I bet they find employment elsewhere.

There are jobs for illegals because business owners illegally give them jobs and pay them LESS than minimum wage and no insurance. As for the people that won't work, why don't you ask them?

you know there are some people who actually do want to work but are unable to find employment. Then there are the ones who sleep till noon, watch cable tv and drink all day. They are the ones who should be punished.
