Medicare doesn't cover all medical care at 100%, so you will have some liability for your visit. If your doc coded the visit only as prescription change, or 'refill', Medicare (and other payers) may not cover the charge, because it wasn't medically necessary.

I've never heard of that. I've had to pay the drug store to get it filled, but never, with or without coverage, was I charged for a prescription.
