It would seem logical to support prevention of unwanted pregnancies if you oppose abortion.

I grew up in a Catholic atmosphere, going to Catholic school for 13 years. For Catholics, both are wrong. They believe that sex should be both love-giving and life-giving. Now, when people have sex they do not always create a life. However, the church says that people who have sex should be open to the idea of having a child. The thought is that that is how God made sex, a sacred act between married couples. Placing some physical or chemical between the couple during sex would be considered wrong. There are easy ways to prevent pregnancy without contraception, like natural family planning. Yes, more condom use would prevent many abortions, but remember: the term is "Pro-Life", not merely "anti-abortion". I hope this helps.

They are against it because they feel that any interception or prevention of a purposeful life is wrong. They feel that contraception infers with an "intended life". In other words, most of the time, pro-lifers are thinking it is interfering in "God's plan".

Because we pro-life people support life. Contraception is an unnatural way of preventing life from happening.

I'm not pro-life, but I know their answer. They think if you're meant to get pregnant you will and if you don't thats god's way of saying you don't get a baby. To get an abortion is against god's will. Thats what I get told. Very irrational to me.
