I was telling my mom about this hair gain shampoo, but i didn't remember what it was called. Then, last night I had a dream i was at the supermarket and I saw the shampoo on the shelf and it's label was rogaine, which was the shampoo i couldn't remember the day before. How did I know it in the dream if i didnt know it before?

You may have seen or heard it at some point without consciously remembering it. Your subconscious mind keeps track of everything that's ever passed through your five senses, whether you "knew" it or not. That's why a lot of times people are able to find out what happened through hypnosis, to retrieve memories that they repressed.

Bottom line: the information's all in there somewhere; it's just a matter of getting it.

It is not unusual for the mind to solve the previous day's problems while in sleep. Since you did not invent a new name for the shampoo you must have heard of it or seen it on TV, etc. but "forgot" it. But you tried to remember the name for your Mom but could not; leaving that as an unresolved problem that perhaps bothered you at least a little. The link mentions an interesting case where the chemist who discovered benzine which is a ring-shaped molecule dreamed of a snake biting its own tail; solving his own vexing problem. Pleasant dreams.

Whenever you see something it is permanently stored in your memory. You can remember things you normally can't when not conscious. Your full thought is on that thing. The object you couldn't remember was not in your primary memory. After thinking about it several times it was moved there. Sort of like a path in the woods. The more often used, the more noticeable and accessible it is.

Good querstion, but maybe in the dream, you saw it in its black bottle, and gold lettering. I'd try it, if wasn't so expensive, and if I didn't have to keep using, to keep the hair that I would gain. Let's consider your posting as a suggestion, even though it was a question, about a dream. Ok? I'd say you were thinking about it, and the Divine Father put it into your dream. It's a good one!

One reason that dreams are thought to exist is to solve problems. Your dream may be an example of this. During your dream you are relaxed, making it easier to remember things. Dreaming is so great! LOL

You remember stuff deep down that you've seen before. Your brain can store stuff in memory that is not necessarily easy access while you're awake. That's why hypnosis sometimes works to help people remember things.

you were probably thinking about it subconsciously right before you went to sleep so your mind started to think about it until it gave you a dream and made you see again what you couldn't remember...this has happened to me before its a funny way how our mind works....usually when im thinking about something a whole lot or worried about something i end up dreaming it
