I take my boat out into the ocean and I've tried all kinds of bait, hooks, line. Ok, maybe I'm exaggerating I haven't tried all kinds of them. But sheesh, you'd think I would get a nibble. I patiently waited today for TWO STINKING HOURS with TWO lines in the water and nothing!

What the heck am I doing wrong? Is my boat painted in fish repellant or something?

Ok, first of all, do not fish in the ocean. Fish rarely bite out in the ocean. You would be more likely to catch fish in a nearby river, or maybe even a stream. The best location would be a lake. If you do not have any of those by where you live, there are some suitable places to look for fish. First, try fishing by the jedi's( land sticking out in the ocean). If no luck there, try in the smaller wading pools. GOOD LUCK!

What time of day are you going out? Are you making sure that the boat and you are quiet while you're fishing? Are you sure that you are fishing in an area that is attractive to fish?

Go out when the fish are feeding (there are all types of fishing sites online that tell the best times.) Make sure that you are in an area where there are actually fish (there's a lot of pollution along the coastlines in the U.S.) and make sure that your line depths are close to the bottom. Stay quiet and stay out more than two hours.

You might not be in a good spot, or you might not be fishing at the right time of the day. Right at dusk or dawn would be a good time to drop in a line. Keep looking for a good spot. Next time you fish, try 50 yards down. Maybe theres a school that lives there. Next to some rocks or a jetti might be a good place.

ioI don't know. Perhaps if you used some fish as fish bait, it might work for you better. I'd say about 12 pounds of salmon would do the trick :-) but it might be cheaper just to buy some fish. Besides, two hours isn't that long for fishing.

It could be the bait or hook you are using, and then again maybe you aren't fishing deep enough, the fish in the ocean are deeper fish then lake fish.

you are fishing in salt water, it may be the type bait you were using, and then again the magic number for salt water fish is 87 degrees, thats in the gulf of mexico, but more than likely it was the type bait you used,
