Talk to your eyecare doctor....you don't want to mess around with your sight!!!! Also, make sure that you don't have the wrong one in the wrong eye (if each of your eyes has a different prescription) or make sure that they are not "inside out" (trust me - done it more than once....) I've been wearing them comfortably for 12 years.

I would go back to your eye doctor and tell them immediately. Sometimes it can be iffy when choosing the correct prescription for contact lenses. Use glasses as a back up.
I've had to go back several times to my eye doctor to tell them the contacts made my vision worse. For instance, if your eyes are a different prescription, they may make one too strong or too weak for each eye causing blurry vision, difficulty seeing at night or even the tendency to go cross-eyed because of the wrong prescription. There is nothing wrong with asking for them to test your eyes again to make sure you get the right contacts for your eyes.

If they're making your sight worse, you need to see your doctor and have the prescription checked. Contacts of any kind are suppose to enhance your sight, not bring it down.

you might just have to get used to them, however contact prescriptions are different than your eyeglass prescriptions, therefore your eye doctor may need to fiddle with your prescription a bit. only use trial pairs first. if it's that bad, take them out and put your glasses on.

That isn't normal, no. Your should call your eye care practicioner as you probably need a slightly different fit, or you have a bad pair. And to ease any anxiety, no it isn't always bad.
