Humans are cells in the body of Humanity. Computer networks are much like the neurons of the human brain and those that use the networks are collectively creating the "thoughts". I believe the birth of Humanity's consciousness occurred on New Year 99/00 when it seemed like the whole world thought it just might end. The Internet is Humanity's brain and it will continue to show our collective power by evermore rapid technological development.

What makes you think that people are full of creative intelligence? There's no evidence to support that. It seems rare. Most of us are consumers rather than original producers.
People rarely think with an open mind, they feel more comfortable going along with mainstream opinion. We believe what we're told, if we weren't suggestible then advertisers wouldn't waste billions every year.
There are contradictions in loads of the questions and answers that appear on here. Theres also a lot of emotion, and thats something that machines cannot even mimic.
The internet is very unlike a human brain. Theres no subconcious to regulate and read the body and send info to the conscious mind. A computer is just memory. It can regurgitate information, but the info on the internet is not even sorted or stored in any coherant fashion.

It's a partial no... it's not a biological/organic entity... you've been watching too much Star Trek/Stargate/2001:A Space Odyssey. To have creative intelligence would require a consciousness; to have a consciousness would require it to be organic with a mind.
It could evolve into a 'mega' information network (with a huge sleazy side) but not all the information on the internet is accurate, e.g. wikipedia.

Hmm.. I think I understand what you mean, but you did not word it well enough for me to be sure.
I think that eventually computers will gain undestanding of life. Everyday people create new artificial intelligence that although designed to answer specific things might eventually undestand the nature of things. So to answer the question, yes, but not in a biological way. Computers will be articificially """alive""" as they will envetually be able to comprehend.
If computers make the internet.... then the internet (might) evolve into an understanding """being""".

Interesting Question - I've wondered about that myself.
Maybe it could - but we'd better hope it doesn't turn out to be like H.A.L. in 2001.
By the way, have you ever noticed:
What's the next letter after H - I
What's the next letter after A - B
What's the next letter after L - M
Put them together and you get IBM.
