A computer crashes when it tries to increase its memory to allow for a program to work. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't if it is going to work the process will be over after 30 seconds, if it takes longer than 30 seconds your computer hs officially crashed. There are many ways to prevent crashing.
1) You can decrease the demand for memory by deleting unwanted files, which will mean your hard drive memory isn't pushing for extra room.
2) Buy a new hard drive which will mean you will have a refreshed memory.

Remember your computer is like a big technical race. Memory is behind demand for memory for 30 seconds then it either overtakes and wins or crashes and looses.

all depends on the type of crash, in general it is what is known as the blue screen of death (when you get a blue screen and lots of hex characters) they can sometimes be fixed but solutions vary, could be faulty memory or corrupt files, there is an option to repair in the installation of xp for example which sometimes can repair the crash

A computer crash occurs after your computer has a hard night of drinking. To fix this, you urinate on the hard-drive and shave it's eyebrows.
