Hey sweetie, next time some ******** Latina biitch calls you "mayata" slap her across the face!! "Mayate'" is basically the "N" word in Spanish. As a Latina, I apologize to you for the embarrassing way that those biitches treat you. They are just jealous of you ... not your ******** problem half of them are fat and ugly!!! If Latinas are really the best, why are half of them on welfare and pregnant before they're 18-years-old. Don't take it personal... a lot of Hispanic women are very jealous and insecure women. Just pity them for their being such jealous bitchhes!

It's not nationalism it's insecurity. We have the same problem over here (the UK) with asians (sub-continent not oriental). Alot of the other minorities are particularly angry that being black is more "acceptable" than being any other minority. They forget that black people have had to endure the trash talk and abuse for a lot longer than they have so when they see black people [finally] getting ahead or doing something good they get angry. Until people realise it's what you do for yourself that counts and will get you somewhere in life there'll be these negative attitudes and plus they're just jealous cos ur make some cute blackatino (lol) babies, nappy headed or not!

Honestly, I don't know what is up with the Latino/Latina pride thing. I am of mixed-heritage . . . my dad is Mexican and my mom is White. My dad was born in Mexico, but he is a true American. His parents came to the US (legally, I might add) to ensure opportunities for all of them. The majority of the 6 kids worked hard and became very successful American citizens and are so proud and grateful to this country for giving them the freedom and support to make good, safe, happy lives for themselves and their families. Are they proud of their heritage? Of course. They introduced some of the celebrations, traditions, music and food from Mexico to their children and grandchildren, but the never confused their pride in their heritage with pride in the country that failed them. Mexico is so corrupt and the chasm between the rich and the poor so great that opportunity eludes the common people.
My dad's mom, when he announced he was marrying my mom, told him it was a mistake, but he and my mom stuck to their guns and have been happily married for 40 years. My grandma and mom have worked through that animosity and are now so close. Don't let the others interfere. Talk to your sweetie, let him know how you feel . . . that you support him wanting to be with his friends and having pride in his heritage, but that these insults are not acceptable. Turn it around for him . . . ask him how he'd feel if he were at a party with your family and friends and racial slurs were used against him. Develop things to do as a couple with people who are truly your friends and don't let the chicas get you down!

The Catholic Church as a rule does not "support" any nation but does recognize legitimate civil authority. She holds these authorities responsible for respecting the fundamental rights of the human person. Some church leaders, like Archbishop Oscar Romero of El Salvador, have spoke out about injustice and have been killed. It is now generally believed the the Soviet KGB was behind the attempted assignation of Pope John Paul II in 1981 for his support of Solidarity in Poland. Part of the Church's mission is "to pass moral judgments even in matters related to politics, whenever the fundamental rights of man or the salvation of souls requires it. The means, the only means, she may use are those which are in accord with the Gospel and the welfare of all men according to the diversity of times and circumstances." With love in Christ.

People with feelings of inferiority or insecurity will often try to compensate in areas that are, or could become within their control.
Consider the choices people make when it comes to status symbols of any kind. It should be obvious what is behind any kind of boasting.
Let it go, the price is to high on any issue involving pride.
Why does so may people outside the US want to be Americans, when so many born and living in the the US does not? Many people will claim a nationality because of ancestry, while they themselves were never there. American is something to be and not be ashamed of.

I know what you mean and I am what you call latino. But listen not all of us are like that, just some stupid people who think they know best and it's just because they were raised like that. And they are not nationalists at all because they ran out of their countries to the US, so the next time one of them tells you how cool his/her country is, then tell that person why the hell are you here instead of there?.

just pay no attention to these group of ignorants, chauvinists people who simply suffer from an inferiority complex. I'm hispanic and even among us there is a sort of rift because we have
this aggressive chauvinism that one's country is better than yours
many hispanics in the U.S. don't get along among themselvess

Good girl. Stick by your guns. Some races no longer believe or seek equality but rather superiority. And you do have a nation to call your own.......America.
