I already know that I'm lactose intolerant..but sometimes I can't resist certain treats, like the big bowl of chocolate ice cream that I had yesterday and today (I'm already suffering). For the most part I stay away from dairy, but my stomach can handle small amounts every now and then. I'm noticing since yesterday that I've been kinda of coughing because my throat needs to clear the mucous in the back of my throat. It doesn't feel like I'm coming down with a cold but i know the layer of mucous is not normal, in between coughs i'm clearing my throat. What do you think, could I be allergic to dairy?

Go see an allergist and have a test done... I know one of the symptoms of allergy to diary is a constant runny nose... my four year old is allergic to diary and that was one of his.....
won't hurt to get a test done at least then you will know for sure...

Lactose intolerant means that you can't digest dairy many people are allergic also. It's hard to test sometimes for this. My mother had lactose intolerance, as do I, and all my children. Two are not allergic, but I am. Like you sometimes I just have to have a little. After eating anything like this I have to take benadryl, every four hours for at least a day or two. The price we pay for cheating, and oh, it taste so good. Like they say we always crave what we can't have. If you have any allergy medicine in the house I advise you to take this immediately.

You will be surprised at how many people are allergic to it without knowing that they are. Keep track of it. If it happens all the time when you are having anything to do with dairy products you might be totally allergic. Also depends on processing and the chemicals added. If you are only allergic to certain dairy products it could be the chemicals.

Yes you could be. I would go see a doctor so they can do tests and tell you for sure if your allergic to dairy products or if it's just a reaction from being lactose intolerant. But check out a doctor and they will be able to let you know for sure.

Yes, you could be allergic to dairy. But you can be allergic to something else as well. I get those symptoms when I'm exposed to dust. Go to a doctor so you can get an allergy test to see what you're allergic to.
