Have we ever been safe ?? OK when the IRA bomb us they use to at least give a warn that a bomb or bombs had been planted in an area so we had a very small chance of clearing the area ... and I think one day i will get caught in a bomb cos I have walked away from so many ... as a kid I had the IRA planting them in my school when I went to work I had them in the store I worked in even the day I went to get my wedding ring there was one (maybe they were telling me not to get married)
then when I work in a museum there was a couple planted there so where can we be safe ?? all we can do is know the area we live and work in ..so that we can spot anything out of place ...this means that shop workers need to keep stores neat and tidy at all times so that they can see at a glance something out of place we also need to be friendlier need to talk to ppl we live near ... bring back the old community spirit so that we can all look out for each other

The world has become a very dangerous place in which to live, and there is no evidence that the situation will improve.
7/7 is but one more stage in a continuing effort by some people to gain control over the entire planet by using force.
In many ways, these people have indeed been successful, and their terrorism is continuing and growing.
I am already an old man, and I have seen a lot. However, I am not convinced that the next generation will be able to survive the planet.
Never before in the history of mankind has human civilization been so threatened.

7/7? Ok, I must have missed something...

Are we safer? There have always been terrorists. In the past, they have bee called the barbarian horde, bandits, pirates, etc. The only real difference is the level of weaponry available due to advances in technology.

There always will be terrorists. As long as hate and fear exist in the world, there will be people who use that hate and fear to justify violence against those they don't like.

Safety is not found in walls or electronic surveillance or prison camps. Safety comes from understanding and tolerance and learning to live together in peace.

Violence begets violence. Have you ever noticed that the more we attack 'the terrorists', the more violent the response? As America and Europe has imposed more laws, and clamped down on more freedoms, and attacked more countries, the counter-attacks have just gotten worse.

Safer? No, especially not with governments being more and more irresponsible, more and more irrational, just to satisfy their own political agendas. Violence begets violence. It's a vicious cycle.

We'll never be any safer, it's all about getting good information on plots that these groups are planning and preventing them ASAP, that's the only way to stay safe. In the US and UK there are sleeper cells just planning their strike so it's up to the civilians and authority figures to prevent these attacks. Everyone needs to stay vigilant

I think we are safer... not necessaraly because of work done by governments.

just the fact that we are asking if we are safer is very important...

look at the headlines for 7/6 look at the headlines for 9/10...

The risk of terrorist attack is at east as prevalent as a year ago. It is simply impossible for the intelligence agencies of Great Britain and the U.S. to detect every terrorist act being planned by every al Qaeda cell or independent Islamic extremist faction.

No more, no less than before. We are more at risk from our own government prying into our private lives and tresspasing on our constituional rights.

whenever there will be enforcement of law, there will be retaliation. every country has a right to live and think their own way for their own country. if some body else try to impose their ways and force them through economics then there will be lots of misunderstanding .

i can not allow some one from out side to tell me what my family should do....simple.
