Good question! They don't yet have enough experience or knowledge to realize how important clear communication is to daily life, or to solving all the world's problems.
As long as our schools do not demand excellence of students, they never will learn how to communicate clearly; but they will know all of the "code words" thrown at them daily by the media.

Everyones spellings sucks. But their grammar is just as bad.

Can be because their mother tongue is not English
