High School Musical is a Disney Channel Original Movie with choreography by Kenny Ortega, Charles Klapow, and Bonnie Story. A musical, the film tells the story of two complete opposites, Troy, who is the basketball captain of his school's team and Gabriella, a shy brainiac. Together, they try out for the lead parts in their school musical. Despite some students' attempts to thwart their dreams, Troy and Gabriella persist and inspire others along the way.
It's popular due to hot Zac Efron!!!!!

A guy and a girl overcome their social places and labels to do what they really want: sing and go out w/ each other. Why it's so popular? Because for some reason most girls think Zac Efron is drop dead gorgeous. Me? I prefer Johnny Depp or Chad M. Murray. Good movie with a good message, but not anything to jump up and down over.

Songs are really great. People can easily memorize them and sing them out loud to bother others who claim they hate those songs...
Basically the story is about how people can be more than just in their typical cliques in school. ex. The jocks can also be interested in baking, etc. I don't really know what else to say... Oh, and people think the guy and girl are hot. =P

ok well i love high school musical but it wouldn't be so popular without zac! so hot! but the songs are good to and the movie is really funny!

i love that movie cause everybody is singing and dancing all the time
