later you could just play those stupid little games like would you go out with me or this person and have her chose and if she chose a someone over you then no you know your answer or just have a Private talk then say to your self if I want to be a manly man then I wont be shy to talk to her.....then ask what you want to ask

or if you become friends why dint you give her gifts when she is sick or when she is not then you can ask if she wants to go eat lunch later on during Saturday and invite her to every thing your are planning on doing with your friends or all by yourself

...but to answer your question, it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks of her...if you like her, then you like her...if you want to find out how she feels about you, strike up a conversation with her or ask her out...either of those should give you some kind of clue, if you're too shy to just ask her straight out how she feels...
