Well, even greatness can have moments like that. A certain Azzurri team fumbled similarly in the group phases, and they're about to dispute the ultimate prize. It's really just an unfortunate thing that can happen sometimes. In a more extreme and tragic circumstance, a Colombian player was murdered for scoring an own goal in the '94 world cup, in a game against the USA .

For a split second it was funny..but then you have to realize he was trying to block the shot.(I'm all for Germany but Portugal played really well). I was very shocked that it went in as their goalkeeper was very good. Both teams played great but the better team won. Go Germany!

that was not funny at all. it in the act of trying to block the ball but he wasnt in a good postion and so off it went thru his foot. do you think anyone would want to score an own goal when they are trying to beat their opponent? thats what i thought.
