I'm thinkin of buying a Ducati 999. Does anyone have any experience with this bike and/or Ducati. If so, do you have any suggestions or complaints? NO STUPID REMARKS PLEASE OR GET REPORTED!

My answer would be a carbon copy of the first guy's. The 999 is a beautiful bike - great on the track, but horrible on long rides, due to the aggressive riding position. (more so than any other SS I've ridden). Also make sure you get a bi-posto (2 seater), sure the mono posto is more racy, but you WILL have females wanting to go 2 up. - Believe me, Ducati's are a hot bike. Since I've owned mine, my Girlfriend has no desire to ride the Harley.

If you've got the coin, - go for it.

Owned two Ducatis - high maintenance, high maintenance costs, and higher insurance, just be prepared - if you're spending the money for a 999, though, this may not concern you.

Decently reliable, not as much as most Japanese bikes, had some minor electrical problems that prevented me from riding a few times.

In my opinion Ducati's are overpriced Italian motorcycles that aren't quite on the same level as a moden Japanese bike. They cost alot although your paying for the exclustivity of having a Triumpth and the great exhaust note. Also their one of the coolest looking bikes around
