Depending on your platform, there might be a chat function somewhere on your game window. Pogo, for example, usually has a window in the lower right corner, with a list of players in your room just above it. If you click on the player you want to private chat with, it should also open that private chat, although that might be considered cheating in some online games where it is enabled.
