the engine turns over but does'nt run I have changed yhe plugs and fuel filter Not equiped with a PCV valve does anyone have any suggestions on what coulds be the problem??

Very possibly the fuel pump. If it has an electric pump you should be able to hear it when you turn the key on. Maybe have someone stand outside the car while you turn the key to the on position (without cranking the motor)

There are three basic needs for an engine.
1) Fuel (spray some carb. cleaner in the intake) if it wont start or try to you have no spark.
If it does start, you have a fuel supply problem.
try that and get back to us.

turn the key to on have someone listen at the gas tank area they should hear a buzzing noise if you dont check the fuel pump relay if you have power in and out of the relay jack car up and support with jackstands check for power at fuel tank if you have power pull fue tank and replace pump and sock

have someone turn the key to the on post not starting and take the gas cap off to listen to fuel if no noise it's the pump if nopise check the ignition module and crankshaft post sensor

Starter. Solenoid. Or the brushes are worn. Turn them suckers around so they wear in the opposite direction.
