Funny story..I was attracted to a masculine woman who was so masculine she looked like a really attractive guy.It wasn't until I found at she didn't have the right plumbing that I was turned off.It wouldn't have worked anyway. She didn't like male genitalia and I don't like female genitalia. But also, I am not effeminate. At least not all the time.I am effeminate when I want to be.And even then it's just to be silly and have fun.

I would imagine "straight effeminite men" could be attracted to "straight masculine women" and vice versa. There are not set scripts in life tho, you can find love anywhere and everywhere if you open your mind to it.
In High school...I was very butch (but had no idea I was a lesbian) and I dated this guy who was extremely femminine. All thorugh high school we dated off and on (mostly on) And I dont think either of us had any other serious relationships. We were always pretty taken with each other, though we really weren;t all that "sexually" involved, we did "things" but not a lot lol. Well I came out as a lesbian when I was 17 and asked him if he was gay, and he denied it. Then about a year later he finally came out of the closet to me as well. So...maybe that answers what you;re asking? But after one realizes they are gay or a lesbian, it's not the gender role they are attracted to, it is the physical body . neither of us want what the other has to offer.

*Some* effeminate men are attracted to *some* masculine women. You simply cannot generalize humans, they are far too diverse, you will ALWAYS be wrong on some level or another.

I am kind of effeminate - and I am a top. My husband is really masculine and he is the bottom.

I'm not sure of the data on that.
In my experience, the masculinity of effeminaty of an individual does not have a direct bearing on the type of lover they choose.
