My daughter is 12 years old and due to heavy periods the doctor was considering putting her on the contraceptive pill. She is taking a tablet that is a hormone, so far that is working. The doctor didn't really want her to go on the contraceptive pill until she is 14.

If young people are going to have sex I think contraception is a good idea. I don't know your age but I have advised all my children I have 3 of them, if you are going to have sex always make sure it is safe sex. There are lots of family planning centres who can always advice on different forms of contraception.

Contraception is important to stop std's and unwanted pregnancy. If you are going to play, play safe.
