I take it you and your friends are looking for something bizarre and interesting to do. Me and my friends were the same way.
As everyone else stated, witchcraft is not something that can be played with. Magick is the ability to manipulate the forces of the universe to reach a desired outcome, and it's a hell of a lot of responsibility. And, of course, with that great responsibility comes great consequences. Not to mention, I had a friend who "played around" with witchcraft and released some really bad energy. It was a mess.
You want something interesting that's consequence-free, basically? Stick to "Light as a Feather, Stiff as a Board". It's just mind over matter sort of stuff. Basic psychology really. And I can say from experience, that if you all put your minds to it and focus, you can get someone as high as your own head.
Have Fun

Witchcraft isn't a game, it's a religion. It can encompass your religion because it's nature based and it doesn't matter by what name you call the god or goddess. But that being said, if you are curious and it seems to be calling you, look around, gather information and experiment. Personally I don't beleive you can cast a spell and it automatically happens, it's more like ritualized prayer. Maybe it will happen, maybe not.
Empowered New Age Women is a good yahoo group to get some safe information. We are based in Lansing, but there's people from father away.

Yes but it is nothing to play with. Everything that you send out will come back to you. You should never cast a spell for self-gain or pleasure. The only spells I have ever cast have been for protection which isn't the same as self-gain. The first one I ever did was to make someone call on the phone and it worked within minutes. It was an old friend I hadn't seen in years and they didn't have my number. All of the books I have involve God and most even use the Lord's Prayer. After all, that is how we were all created and without him backing you it would never work.

If your friends are Witches and you are Christian, just do what other people do with their friends, such as hang out, talk, watch movies, etc. If the subject of religion comes up, just try to keep an open mind. You CAN learn what they practice without becoming a Witch yourself.

I practice, but it is not something to be taken lightly. When you dabble in these things, you have no knowledge of what you're getting yourself into.
Besides, if you don't want it to interfere with your religion, shouldn't you be thinking about that. If your a christian, then "witchcraft" is viewed as evil (even though it's not) and is explicitly forbidden.
Just something to chew on.

First what is your religion? Wicca is a religion of its own. If you are looking to hurt people or think that you can do all kinds of cool things like you see in the movies you are wrong. But if you are serious try looking into Wicca.

Wicca is a religion not a game. Yes it exists and the best "kinds of things" you can try with your friends is reading and educating yourselves.

You can turn them into frogs. It is pretty safe if you don't step on them or let them get eaten.
