You will need to investigate the laws in your state. In Indiana it is illegal to sell any native species, including turtles. It is even illegal to capture a soft shell turtle and keep it as a pet.

You can contact local stores and say that you want to give your guppies away. Hopefully they will accept because they will benefit from the extra fish. If not, there are websites online such as preloved where you can sell your fish!
