I don't have ADD. I just feel like I am being pulled in a thousand different directions and can't concentrate and get things done properly.

No answer can be adequate without knowing your age and health.

So here's a general answer instead.

1. Unfortunately there are no magic pills over, under or through the counter that really make you concentrate better unless you have an addressable medical problem, like Attention Deficit Disorder.

If you have ADD the currently prescribible drugs range from the older Ritalin to the new Straterra. How they work varies from the individual to the individual.

In general, drugs that make you think you can concentrate better, like Amphetmine type medications only work for very very short periods, then they begin causing problems. The adverse reactions that you get from them over very short periods of dosage are not really exaggerated. Unfortunately once you begin using a drug to perform in terms of concentration and so on, you not only become dependent but you build a tolerance very quickly and so, in short order, when you need it the most, it doesn't work.

The answer isn't in an over the counter preparation. Its in the cause of the fact you are being pulled in different directions. You need to sort this out. Eliminate what can be eliminated, and concentrate on what is really important, and let the rest take care of itself. Somehow our worst fears never actually come to pass.

Remember, there's a famous adage about indispensible people that is just as true today as it ever was. The graveyards are filled with indispensible people and yet the world still turns and the Sun comes up each morning and sets each night on the people they left behind.

Ginko Biloba is the herb that is supposed to help with that. Not saying it actually works though. No reasearch to back it, it's just a claim.

What has been researched is diet. Trans fats actually slow brain activity so avoid those. A healthy whole foods diet high in green vegetables and quality protiens like fish and mushrooms are supposed to be good.

Get enough sleep and drink lots of water. 30 minutes of light activity each day, like a brisk walk or swimming will help. Take at least 15 minutes a day to relax or meditate.

you can fix it without pills. meditation is a very good way to help clear your mind and let your body slow down for a few moments. i'm not telling you to go outside, sit under a tree, and hum for a day. i'm saying to do something that helps you relax and think. i like to go drive and blast my stereo as loud as i can on the freeway, and that clears my mind up soo much. i sometimes also like to go jog for ten minutes or something and burn off a bunch of extra energy i've got running through me, so i can sit still for a while lol.

but yeah, do something relaxing and it should clear up your mind enough to concentrate at least a little.
