I am sorry for your pain. Kids can be exceptionally cruel for no reason at all. It will get better as you go. It is not a matter of lack of respect, they attack what they do not understand and join together in an effort to be cool. They have chosen you because you stand out, you are from a different culture. They feel makes it easier to fit in by pointing out those who off hand do not. Do not let them set you back. All you need is a few good friends and you will be set for the rest of your school years. As you are there longer, kids will grow comfortable with you and move on to someone else. Just don't let it get to you, and know that the reason for their outbursts are their own insecurities. Being different isn't always a bad thing. Find another girl your age who looks nice and is also picked on. Go sit with her at lunch and find out more about her and try to make her feel better. This is a very good way to start a friendship.
Also, make an effort to become the best at something. Study hard and try to show up all of the other kids on a test to show what you are capable of

I'm sorry to hear that people are being mean to you. Those who are, are just ignorant; the best thing you can do is ignore them.
Not everyone in the US is the same as those mean people. A few of us from the USA have visited Africa; have found Africans in general to be fine, upstanding, kind, gentle people; and we love and respect Africans. I think you will see this when you get out of school.
Welcome to the USA! I hope you see fit to stay here!

School is a rough time for some kids dear. It doesn't even matter where you are from...people will always be mean to someone who is different. Just be yourself and be proud of who you are. As soon as they grow up they will see who you are and accept it more.
In the mean time try to read a book on what to do when you are being bullied, and tell a teacher.
Good Luck.

People tend to be hostile towards things/people they don't understand. It's mostly a highschool thing though. So don't worry about it too much. It's also that fact that you probably look different from alot of them, so that could be part of it too. I think you'll find that once you're out of highschool, it won't be a problem anymore. Keep your chin u pthough and don't stop smiling ;)
