$100 is about 54 British sterling pounds. I spent maybe 3 - 4 pounds on lunch once, if that helps any. That's about $6.50 - $7.00.

BP stands for British Pound.

As a general rule of thumb, it seems to me that many items in England cost about the same in pounds as they would in the US in dollars. So yes, it's expensive, considering the exchange rate.

You can cut your meal costs somewhat by eating in pubs - food is good, and reasonable compared to many restaurants.

One US Dollar is worth about 54 pence currently.

So $100 would be worth about 54 UK Pounds.

British sales tax is 17.5% on all goods and services. It is not added on at the time of purchase, it is already combined into any advertised prices.

about 50 pounds. you'd think that things would seem abour half price there but it's not! it is extremely expensive! when you are shopping with credit/debit card rather than pounds, just double the amount in pounds to figure out how many us dollars it is! they also don't have sales tax there! cool!
