Alienware. A light years difference in quality and speed. HP.... yech... Also the Core Duo processors share a cache between both cores and that slows the whole system down. The Athlon (Turon if you can get it) dual core processors have seperate cache for both cores. Check out www.amd.com for more info.

Shop for better options. I had a cow-puter (gateway?) and I also had an HP. There are so many different deals to be had and made out there. Try bestbuy and bestbuy.com, eBay, go to several stores and always write down the name of the sales associates that help you or give you a certain deal so you will have something to compare to. Larger screen size is great if you are going to be viewing a lot of movies, pictures, graphics, etc.

I don't think free stuff matters as much as getting a great computer. Just decide which one will work best for you and choose that one...good luck, it's a BIG purchase....

The first one. AMD Athlon's are really good processors, I use them myself. Plus, it had a bigger screen and RAID utilities, plus extra crap. 'nuff said. Hope you have fun with it.
