No kidding, if only people and government would support funding for finding new power sources for cars, and electricity, we could have enough power to last us until the sun runs out of hydrogen fuel. (and boils away earths oceans in the process)

I think there are so many options for an economic disaster that it's going to be a race to see which one, if it even comes down to just one of them causing it.

I do know that right now there have been a lot of companies and people looking into alternative fuels. I suspect that once the oil really starts drying up that the companies that have grown bloated and fat off of oil profits will find new sources. Surprisingly I don't think hydrogen will be one of them. I think there are too many restrictions and that something better will be found.

I've seen it. But there are many other disasters waiting to happen.

What if we had only 3 hurricanes hit this country like the one that hit New Orleans? (Global warming) What if a terrorist finally does hit us with an H-bomb? (it'll be because the Neocons and the CIA have subverted 1 too many foriegn countries)

And oil... W & the Republicans could care less. They are in office cuz of oil lobbies. We need more gov money spent on alternative research.

No, actually, I don't.

We've been wasteful for far too long. The current oil pricing will force conservation and spur development of alternative fuels. That will help both the environment and our economy in the long run. Sure, it's painful right now, but good will come from it in the end.
