I'm really new to this, yet today I've burned a few hours reading and answering questions (I tend to write long answers). Now I'm finding it hard to tear myself away. Short of dumping my coffee into my keyboard, shorting it out so I have to quit, I'm not sure if I can tear myself away. Yo, I don't want to find myself attending YAA meetings! A little support and feedback, constructive suggestions, or just make me laugh so hard that I spew coffee on my keyboard?

Man, I see what my next question needs to be. If I start a YAA meeting, would it be wrong to hold meetings in Yahoo Groups?
LOL,LOL,LOL,LOL. Tim - you need counselling. 18 tabs? LOL.

well usually when i get stuck on the computer, it just takes a little nail polish and then i pop right off, but when that's not available, i just have to sit here with my face stuck to the moniter until help arrives...how embarassing!!! no, really, i don't have internet access @home, so i have to come to the library and i can only stay on for an hour at a time....can't wait to get a pc!!!

This is what I use the points for! Lol, sometimes it helps to tell yourself, you will absolutely quit for the day when you reach a certain point level.

Of course, sarah_c's answer, right before mine, is nothing... I've got Firefox, with tabbed browsing. I go down the list of questions and open up a tab for each one that sounds interesting, plus I keep one tab on My Q&A so I can easily view my updated points. Right now I've got 18 tabs open to Yahoo! Answers.

Don't leave, don't ever leave Yahoo! Answers... I tried, I tried so hard, but the Yahoo! fairy, it came and bound me to my desk, so all I may do is Answer... They said they'd take my soul... they said they would... they said if I left I'd never know the answers to life's mysteries, like "should I paint my cat blue?" and "where is my other sock?" or congratulate a fellow YA on their "amezin speeling". They said such ugly things friend, that I shall never leave! Never!!!!

That's my excuse anyway... It's somehow more forgivable that way...

Oh, and should there be a forum for YA, please let me know. This addiction's getting to be a bit of a pain in the as-ker.

You are not alone.... I have been addicted to this thing for a couple of weeks now (I think - it could be longer!) I am a grown up, responsible woman with a successful career... what is this all about? Why do I spend hours on here reading, answering and asking questions??

My only suggestion (construstive or not as it may be) is to keep at it.... It's FUN!!

I started like that. I suggest you just enjoy it. Soon, the novelty will wear off and you will just do a couple a day in your spare time. I write questions if I really need to know the answer and it is a very useful facility.

Gosh, i am the same way. I have only been on here for a few days and I can't stay away. If htere is an addicts group we all may have to join and ask the same quesions there too. LOL

It will get old eventually. I was stuck on it at first, too. Luckily they have a limit to how many ques and ans a filthy first timer can do, so you wont be on forever. Isn't that reassuring? It always seems like you run out right as you're about to answer the ultimate ques, too, hu?

Thats nothing. Did you realise you can have two instances of your browser window open, one on the web and one on Yahoo...or both on yahoo at the same time? You can be typing one answer while the browser is still uploading the last one.
Hey, its multi tasking, right?

At least this is free and pretty harmless,
I have to admit my eBay habit was getting a bit out of hand until I discovered the selling of body parts is frowned upon, It then seemed to lose its appeal slightly.
